Fonds consists of two sous-fonds, that of Margaret Elizabeth Phipps-Walker and that of Edward Phipps-Walker. The Edward Phipps-Walker sous-fonds consists of textual material, including a "Guest Register" for a motel in Gananoque, Ontario; photographs; audio tapes. They detail the man's life from his school days in England to his death at the age of 71 in Kingston. A very important part of these records document his business activities. Most of these activities were closely related to his role as Habour Master for the Port of Kingston. The Margaret Elizabeth sous-fonds consists of textual material and photographs detailing a good deal of her public career in Kingston, with a strong focus on her work with the Association of Women Electors. There is also a good deal of personal material such as letters and diaries.

Fonds consists of diaries, the entries of which represents his activities on an almost daily basis from 1942 to 1990; correspondence; newspaper clippings; photographs and assorted ephemera covering some of the ten years preceding and the almost five years following the span accounted for by the diaries; research and lecture notes; offprints; professional correspondence; and a scrapbook.

The South Carolina collection consists of two parts: Part 1: the Papers of James Henry Hammond, and Part 2, Miscellaneous Collections of Personal and Family Papers. James Henry Hammond (1807-1864) was a statesman and plantation owner in South Carolina. He served in the United States House of Representatives and Senate, and was Governor of South Carolina from from 1840 to 1842. The papers reflect his role as both statesman and planter, including records pertaining to agriculture, education, family life, the practice of law, politics and slave management.The Miscellaneous collections of Personal and Family papers includes: Samuel Porcher Gaillard Plantation journals; John Forsythe Talbert Plantation journals; a Caleb Coker Plantation book; James Trezevant Plantation diary and records; Glover family papers;a James Talbert Ouzts Plantation book; a David Milling Plantation book; John Ogilvie Medical Account books; a diary from Natalie DeLage Sumter; the papers of Mary Hart Means; Thomas family diaries; the papers of James Ritchie Sparkman; the John Stapleton papers; Thomas Cassells Law papers; John McPherson DeSaussure papers; Lewis Malone Ayer papers; the Read-Lance family papers; the Heyward family papers; John Ewing Colhoun papers; the Miller-Furman-Dabbs family papers; and the Hammond-Bryan-Cumming family papers.

The fonds consists of correspondence regarding political and judicial matters including the Paris Peace Conference, 1919, the disarmament conference of 1921, and correspondence between the Governor General and the Colonial Office, referred to Borden for his information and papers of the Canadian delegation to the Paris Peace Conference consisting of memoranda and reports on topics discussed at the conference, prepared fpr use within the Imperial War Cabinet and by the British Empie delegation. Also included are notes, memoranda, lectures, speeches, clippings, reports, addresses, diplomas, memoir notes, family papers, and diaries.

The fonds consists of correspondence, diaries and photographs from the period of Dunsmore's World War I service (1915-1919), and the WWI diaries of his brother-in-law Clarence Voaden (1917-1918). It also includes various writings, correspondence, lectures and addresses from his time of service on the Board of Trustees, and minutes and reports from the Queen's University Campus Planning committee as he also served on that committee for almost twenty years.
