Incorporated in 1903 by Charles Selby and Henry Youlden, Selby and Youlden, Limited (also known as the Kingston Foundry) was a moulding and machine shop. It was located on Ontario Street at the foot of Union Street.
Scott Thompson is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Surveillance Studies Centre, having completed his doctoral degree at the University of Alberta in Sociology. Scotts research focuses on the relationship between classification, governance and surveillance technologies. His interest in the topic was sparked by work he conducted with Dr. Gary Genosko concerning the surveillance of drinking behaviors by the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO). This research was completed as part of his Masters thesis and resulted in his first publications (at http://www.puncheddrunk.ca/).
William Hanlan Hutcheson was born in Clarendon, Oso Twp., Frontenac Co., Ontario on 25 Apr 1884. Not a lot is known about his history. At some point it is believed that he was a telegraph operator and then an agent for for both the Grand Trunk Railway and for Canadian National Railways. He was also a breeder of Airedale terriers. He was a member of the Klu Klux Klan of Canada for a number of years in the 1920s. He passed away on 12 Aug 1965 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.
Centerfold started in August 1976, published by The Parachute Center for Cultural Affairs in Calgary, Alberta. One year later in 1977, The Parachute Center became Arton's, marking an increase in video and film programing and distribution as well as continued promotion of performance and music programing, residencies and exhibitions taking place at the facility and in the surrounding area. The founding editors of the magazine were Clive Robertson and Marcella Bienvenue with the editorial board expanding to ten members in 1980 after the magazine moved to Toronto with Robertson and renamed FUSE in 1979.
George F. Henderson was an archivist at Queen's University Archives. He grew up in Wilton, Ontario, and attended Queen's University. Henderson retired from Queen's University in 2001, and continues to research on local history.
