The Kingston Film Council (KFC) was organized 1945 by a group of Kingstonians interested in Visual and Adult education. The first President was Mr. E. L. Earl. As a council many of the members were other organizations in and around Kingston. At its height there were over 100 member organizations . The Council acted as a distribution hub for films, supplier of rental equipment as well as hosting showings. Activities that the Council undertook were workshops on film utilization, training for Projectionists, outdoor showings and festivals. At various points the Council and the Department of Extension at Queen's University were quite interrelated.
KFC was a member of the Federation of Film Councils or Eastern Ontario which in turn was a member of the Ontario Association of Film Councils.

Not much is known about the history of the Kingston Driving Club (also known as the Kingston Sleighing Club) other than what appears in this record. There is reason to believe that it may have existed before and after the dates of these minutes (1849-1851) but nothing definitive is known. The club appears to have been an organization which attracted members from various social backgrounds in the town of Kingston, with a mix of military and local community members.

The Kingston Dairy School was officially opened on 13 December 1894, by the Kingston School of Mining and Agriculture. In 1895, there were 109 students attending the School. Although the School of Mining would eventually be amalgamated with Queens University, the Kingston Dairy School was placed under the management of the provincial government in 1896. The building was located at the corner of Barrie and Clergy Streets, and expanded over the years prior to it burnin down on 17 January 1922. The provincial government decided to rebuild it immediately, and construction was completed the next year. By this time (1923), the School was known as the Eastern Dairy School, and was one of only two dairy schools in the province. In 1927, the School became part of the Kemptville Agricultural School. The Eastern Dairy School was permanently closed in 1936.
