The Hockey News, commonly abbreviated to THN, is a Canadian ice hockey magazine. The Hockey News was founded in 1947 by Ken McKenzie and Will Côté, and has since been the most recognized hockey publication in North America. The magazine has a readership of 225,000 people per issue, while the magazine's website counts two million total readers. Previously owned by Transcontinental Media, it was acquired by TVA Group in 2014 as part of the sale of its consumer magazines. The sale created a synergy, as TVA Group is the official French-language rightsholder of the National Hockey League in Canada, as per a license agreement with Rogers Media. Roustan Media bought the Hockey News from Quebecor on January 26, 2018.
