Lawrence Gladwyn Macpherson was born in 1906 in Ottawa. He graduated from Brandon College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1927. From college he went into chartered accounting and was awarded the degree of Chartered Accountant in 1931. He was appointed to Queen's University in 1933 as a lecturer on the staff of the School of Commerce and became Director in 1958. He was named Dean of the School of Business on its separation from the faculty of Arts and Science in 1963. He assumed the office of Vice-Principal (Finance) in 1965, a position he held until his retirement in 1971. Macpherson died on May 29 1989.
