Ross Milton McRae was born at Morven, Ontario in 1885. He attended city schools and Kingston Collegiate Institute. After working as a bell-hop in Toronto, he entered the employ of Chown Limited where he remained for sixty years. He started as an invoice clerk and went on to become bookkeeper, secretary of the board and one of the directors of the company. He was married to Bessie Mander.

Donald R. (Don) McQueen was born in Toronto in 1938, and raised in Brockville, Ontario. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Queen's University (1963), and moved to London, Ontario to teach in secondary school. He was a charter member of the Forest City Railway Society, which formed in 1968, and served as the editor of the organization's monthly publication, "Tempo Jr."
Malcom McPhee moved to Kingston with his family from Napanee in 1958. He married Barbara Hogg in 1963. He graduated from Queen's in 1965 and moved to the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) in June 1966 where he continued to teach and practice in a variety of roles.
